Mr. Mohamed Fizan, LL.B (Hons) (Bond University, Australia), Attorney-at-Law (Maldives)

Fizan graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) degree with Honours from Bond University, Australia, and was amongst the top law graduates from his class. He is a senior member of the Maldivian Bar, and an Advocate of the Maldives Supreme Court and the Maldives High Court.

Fizan is a full-time Partner Lawyer at this firm since 2006, and has maintained a successful private practice in commercial law with us for more than 9 years. He is well known within the legal community as a prominent commercial lawyer, and his clientele includes some of the biggest hoteliers, resort owners, and high net-worth companies and private individuals in the Maldives, as well as reputed international banks, financiers, and foreign investment companies. As such, in recent years, he has successfully concluded some major international hotel financing transactions in the Maldives for bankers and developers alike (for resort hotel development and construction purposes), and a substantial number of resort hotel acquisition transactions.

In addition to having considerable expertise in the tourism industry and the banking sector, Fizan has extensive knowledge and experience in other major areas of commercial law, including company law, foreign investments, real estate and property acquisitions and investments, investment structuring, assets re-structuring, civil works and building contracts, construction finance, development projects by Government and international donor agencies, employment disputes (specifically in the tourism industry), and commercial litigation and dispute resolution.

Recently, Fizan also appeared as lead counsel in few landmark constitutional cases before the newly created Supreme Court.
